INTEGRITY: We understand that as the leadership body for KCSSS, our conduct reflects on the Society as a whole. As individuals and as a Board, we will adhere to high moral principles and professional standards. We will be honest, fair and forthright, and act at all times in the best interest of the Society, subjugating when necessary our personal interests. Our decisions and actions reflect the values of our Society and our commitment to accepted ethical and professional conduct. We work to ensure that our conduct earns the support and trust of all segments of the public that we serve.

HONESTY: We value the human quality of communicating and acting truthful and with fairness, as best one is able. As a Society, we must be truthful, responsible, trustworthy, and honourable in our actions, words and character when addressing any seniors’ issues.

PROFESSIONALISM: It is imperative that as a Society we exhibit cooperative, courteous and polite behavior in our relationship with one another and with all with whom we associate. We must be aware of the need for flexibility owing to the diversity of the groups within our communities. Exhibiting such a professional manner will maintain our reliability as a group.

LEADERSHIP: We will set an excellent example through our actions and decisions and not be afraid to demonstrate initiative internally as an organization and in the wider society. We will share our experience and knowledge with others generously. We will lead the Society in our Mission by achieving goals through innovation and best practices.

COMPASSION: As a Society, whose prime concern is the safety, security and well-being of our seniors, we must show empathy towards the problems and issues of our seniors. We will help solve their problems, as best we can, but must show patience and have compassion, as these problems are not always solved as quickly as we would like them to be.

RESPECT: A major objective of this Society is to address the welfare and quality of life for seniors in Kings County. It is therefore essential that we treat all seniors with dignity and fairness and remain tolerant of their situation and outlook on life.
